My Reiki Story.

Some stories do not begin with books. They begin with an opening of the heart, or with the sudden warming of the hands. When I was practicing and teaching yoga, I began to notice something I could not explain. Whenever I came close to people, my hands would suddenly grow warm, almost hot, as if they wanted to speak. Sometimes I could feel where the energy was stuck, or where pain was hiding in the body. Sometimes I even felt it inside myself, a pull, a pulse, a wave, and I knew it wasn’t mine.

For years I searched for an answer. But no school or method truly called me. It stayed quietly in the background, a question waiting for its time. One day I met a Reiki teacher. She offered Reiki 1 and 2 together in one weekend. Something inside me said yes. It was all very simple – no long preparation, just a doorway opening that felt familiar. After that weekend, something began to move. For twenty-one days the energy kept teaching me, not through words, but through presence. One night, half awake and half asleep, I felt light moving all around me. I thought my teacher must be sending me Reiki. But when I asked her, she said, No, I didn’t send you Reiki. And I knew — it wasn’t her. It was Reiki itself. The living lineage that began with Dr. Mikao Usui had reached across time and found me. It opened a door inside me that has never closed. Later I understood that Reiki 1 and 2 cannot truly be received in one weekend. For me, the 21 days in between, just like the 21 days Dr. Usui spent in meditation, are essential. They allow the energy to settle, the body to adapt, and the heart to expand. This has become part of my way, a legacy I wish to carry forward. Since that night, I have trusted what moves through me. Even when people come to me wanting to go further into Reiki, I know the energy itself decides. If the time is right, nothing can stop it. If it isn’t, it simply waits, gently holding the door closed until the soul is ready. I have never read Reiki books, but I know how to listen. I am endlessly curious, always exploring, because in everything I do, I want to understand, to experience, to know. That makes it real for me. It was like that with yoga, and it is like that with everything. I only speak about what I truly know and feel. Reiki is like light. It arrives when the heart is ready to receive it. And once it finds you, you are never the same again. This is the story behind my Reiki path, a reminder that what we seek may already be seeking us. stories do not begin with books. One day I found a Reiki teacher. She offered Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 together in one weekend.Something inside me said yes. It was all very simple — no long preparation, just a doorway that opened and felt strangely familiar.

After that weekend, something began to move. For the next month, the energy kept teaching me, not through words, but through presence. One night, half asleep and half awake, I felt a wave of energy flowing all around me — like someone was sending me Reiki. I thought, my teacher must be working with me. But when I asked her, she said, No, I didn’t send you Reiki. It was not her. It was Reiki itself. The living lineage that began with Dr. Mikao Usui had reached across time and found me. It opened a door inside me that has never closed.

These days allow the energy to settle, the body to adjust, and the heart to expand in its own rhythm. This has become part of my teaching, and the legacy I wish to carry forward. ince that night, I have trusted what moves through me. Even if I have never read a Reiki book, I know how to listen. I am endlessly curious, always exploring, because in everything I do, I want to experience what I speak about. That’s how truth becomes real for me. It was like that with yoga, and it’s the same with everything I do. What I speak, I live. What I live, I feel.

Reiki, for me, is light. It arrives when the heart is ready to receive it. And once it finds you, you are never the same again. Some truths about Reiki reveal themselves slowly, like ancient secrets whispered back through time.

Reiki is like a key. Every cell carries the memory of its original wellness, but trauma and stress cover it with static. Reiki acts like a tuning fork, shaking the static loose so the blueprint can hum again.

That is why, in some sessions, nothing dramatic seems to happen on the surface, yet deep inside, the code is quietly being rewritten. Your coherence, your heart rate, breath, and intention entrain the receiver’s body. When you drop into heart–brain harmony, breathing slowly with compassion, the vagus nerve senses safety and the body shifts from fight and flight to rest and repair. This is why Reiki feels like peace that arrives. It is the remembrance of what has always been whole.

This is the story behind my Reiki path a reminder that what we seek, might already be seeking us.

Much Light,

Rosa 🌹
